STAND BY FOR A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT (LOOKING BACK)
With two albums under my belt in 1972, the record company decided to release my third album in 1973. Here are excerpts from the liner notes, written by Jack Hosier.
“In August of last year, Joyce’s recording of “Testing 1-2-3” was listed in the Canadian trade magazine, RPM Weekly, as number one on their country chart. The paper was later to name it as one of the top country songs for 1972- Radio station CKPC, Brantford named it the top song of the year and CFGM, Thornhill, Ontario, pegged it as one of the most requested songs of the year. The readers of the monthly “World Of Country Music” newspaper, voted Joyce one of the top female country singers in Canada and “Testing” as the No. 1 song. – If that wasn’t enough, the crowning achievement of success for any singer came at the Marathon Music Award Presentations, when Joyce was presented with the highly coveted “Gold Record”.
