THE OTHER SIDE OF ME (LOOKING BACK)
Well a lot of things changed from the time I signed with Boot Records and my next CD. The biggest thing was a move from Ontario to Nova Scotia. I decided I’d like to do some recording and in 1992 I released a single “You Are The Only One For Me”. This single was recorded in Halifax at Solar Audio, and was produced by Mickey Lane and Meridith McCulloch. It was released by RDR Promotions, Toronto, on their Countrypak12.
By 1994 I decided to record a full length CD at Sound Pro, Dartmouth, N.S., produced by Georges Hebert, long time guitarist for Anne Murray. I titled the CD, "The Other Side Of Me". There was no actual song on the CD with that name, but I knew some people didn't even know that I was a singer/songwriter, hence the title of the CD. I re-recorded “You Are The Only One For Me”, and, because “Testing 1-2-3” was such a big hit, I decided to re-record it as well. All songs were written by me except “Testing”. The entire CD was shipped to radio across Canada and to stations overseas. We sent out publicity to promote the first song, “Two Step On Saturday Night”. It was a bit too traditional country for Canada at that time and I received minimal airplay here. On the other hand I received major airplay overseas. To promote myself, and my songs, I performed overseas with my band, Total Country, in 1996, 1997, and 1999.
